January 21 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm
Speaker: Danny Pyrah, Senior Risk Management Consultant, NFU Mutual Risk Management Services Ltd
About the session
The most common causes of non-fatal farming injuries are – slips, trips or falls, being struck by moving objects (including flying or falling objects), falls from height, contact with machinery and being injured by an animal.
Danny has a wide knowledge of the farming industry and the hazards faced by agricultural workers, who often work alone in remote areas. He will use case studies to illustrate the management problems associated with developing effective management systems for the safe use of farm equipment, anaerobic digestors, slurry tanks and grain silos as well as looking after animals and keeping the family safe.
