Speaker: David Mason, Director, Inspire Safety

Date: 11 April 2019

Venue: Netherwood Hotel, Grange-over-Sands, Cumbria

Dave introduced himself by explaining that he had a wide range of safety management experience including being Health & Safety Director at Travis Perkins prior to taking on his role as Director at Inspire Safety. During this time, he has tried several different approaches to encourage, Directors, managers and employees to take ‘ownership’ of their workplace safety culture. He explained how studies of group behaviour can inform our approach to developing a positive workplace culture but that there is no ‘quick fix’.  His presentation led to a worthwhile and wide-ranging discussion and exchange of ideas about how to achieve effective workplace safety initiatives to develop a positive workplace culture.
