South Cumbria Occupational Health & Safety Group (SCOHSG) has been awarded an Alan Butler Silver Award in recognition of its work to disseminate information about best practice in workplace health and safety management to the wider community, especially to small and medium sized businesses.
SCOHSG ‘s Chairman, James Woolgrove and Programme Secretary, Val Kennedy, have been invited to an award ceremony at the House of Lords on 26th January 2015.
SCOHSG is a member of Safety Groups UK (SGUK), a nationwide network of about 70 safety groups whose members are safety and health professionals or managers from local businesses and organisations.
The annual Alan Butler Awards recognise the achievements of local safety groups. They are sponsored by BT under the auspices of SGUK.
