SCOHSG‘s committee members are pleased to announce that SCOHSG has achieved a silver Alan Butler Award for their work in 2015.

Geoff Price, SCOHSG‘s Membership Secretary, travelled to London to receive the award, on behalf of the group, at the House of Lords award ceremony on 25 January 2016.

He said: “We are very pleased to have had our efforts to ensure workers are kept safe and healthy recognised in this way. We were judged on a number of important criteria, so to get one of these awards is a tremendous honour and testament to the impact that our group, and the IOSH district we collaborate with, have had in Cumbria and Lancashire.”

Our chairman, James Woolgrove, said: “Our safety group is very pleased that our efforts to raise awareness and address safety and occupational health in practical and effective ways has been recognized in this way. This year, we’ll try for gold!
