When representatives from the SCOHSG committee attended Safety Groups UK award ceremony on 24 February 2020 they heard an inspirational safety presentation by a team of four 14 year olds from Parklands High School, Chorley called Parklands Safety Group.

Their enthusiastic presentation included two short video clips that they had created with help from Richard Taffs, Operations & HSQE Manager, AMRC, Sheffield University (based at Preston).  One of the video clips was on stress, the other featured careless driving; both were short and to the point.

This group are organising an event to help young people from secondary schools, as well as apprentices and trainees, to understand why health and safety is important.

It will be a fun event that will include group activities such as producing safety films, designing safety games, recording safety tips and interviews and generating safety Apps. They are hoping that young people from local schools and apprentices from local firms will be allowed to attend this event.
