Safeguarding: the significance of PUWER Reg10 and CE certified machinery

About the session

Tom’s presentation will cover the following:

  • The importance of PUWER Reg 10, which mandates CE marking for all machinery.
  • What machinery CE marking entails.
  • Why using properly certified machinery is crucial for workforce safety.

He will illustrate his presentation with case studies showing the potentially serious implications of using non-compliant machinery and he will explain how compliance can help prevent workplace incidents and accidents. He plans to help members for ensure that their workplaces maintain high machinery safety standards and safe systems of work.

This event will cover the following IOSH competencies: health and safety competence (Technical), knowledge management (Core), and problem-solving (Behavioural) at the Implement and Understand Level.

About Tom

Tom is a Machinery Safety & Compliance Consultant with Knox Thomas. He specializes in providing expert guidance and support to businesses in a variety of industries, including manufacturing & production, product development, resale and distribution. He has experience in helping organizations to ensure that their workplace machinery complies with relevant regulations and can be used safely.

Tom is passionate about ensuring safe and responsible practices in the design of machinery and helping organizations navigate legal compliance problems. He works closely with clients to assess their specific needs and provide tailored solutions to help them achieve compliance and improve safety.

Prior to becoming involved in machinery compliance Tom was responsible for the engineering team and H&S practice within a technology company where he was part of senior leadership and recognized by Business Insider as one of the “100 People Transforming Business”.
