About the session
Health Risk Management is an essential part of any organisation’s health and safety strategy and should follow the same risk management approach: identification and assessment of risk, controlling exposure, training, health surveillance and review. A health risk assessment focuses specifically on the health risks within the workplace that are not always evident without directed attention. It is the basis for deciding what response is needed to eliminate, control and minimise health risks within your working environment and should be undertaken by those who understand the risks.
Amanda is a Specialist Practitioner in Occupational Health and Safety Management, with over 25 years occupational health experience managing health risks in a wide variety of different industries. She provides quality managed systems of work to the Faculty of Occupational Medicine’s ‘Safe Effective Quality Occupational Health Services’ (SEQOHS) standards and is an efficient and effective communicator.
Julian Dowson a BOHS trained Occupational Hygienist, who helps businesses achieve robust and practical health risk management using practical physical and procedural controls. He uses his experience and knowledge to encourage organisations to develop ongoing action plans to help mitigate against future risks. Julian’s teaching experience has honed his communication skills so that he can positively influence employees’ behavioural safety through kinesthetic coaching and employee engagement.
