James Woolgrove, Director and Principal Consultant, Woolgrove Associates explained that these regulations place additional legal duties on all businesses (Clients), who commission construction work. This is one of the biggest changes in health and safety legislation in recent years. The impact on businesses, Clients under the CDM Regulations, is large. James explained the Client’s new duties and how they should be discharged.
He also reassured members that the changes will have a minimal impact on medium to large contracting firms, on small contractors and on designers if they are already complying with the original CDM Regulations.
