An important part of managing workplace risk is ensuring that all employees understand the potential hazards associated with their work and how to work safely therefore it is important to provide appropriate health and safety training.
HSE recommends a five-step approach to workplace health and safety training:
- Decide what training your managers and employees need.
- Decide on your training priorities.
- Select appropriate training methods and resources.
- Deliver the training.
- Ensure that employees have adequate supervision and undertake routine checks to ensure that the training recommendations have been implemented.
